SNL Season 49 Returns October 14 with Pete Davidson and Ice Spice
The SNL cast is returning to Studio 8H for Season 49 with Pete Davidson hosting the premiere—and a new cast member's just been announced.
Mark your calendars: Saturday Night Live is returning for a Season 49 premiere on October 14 on NBC. New episodes will be simulcast live on Peacock.
Pete Davidson will be the first Host of SNL Season 49, with Ice Spice as Musical Guest.
On October 14, Bad Bunny will return to pull double duty as Host and Musical Guest.

Season 48 welcomed four new cast members, Devon Walker, Molly Kearney, Marcello Hernandez, and Michael Longfellow. It was also the final season for Cecily Strong, SNL's longest-running female cast member, who left after 2022's holiday episode hosted by Austin Butler.
Pete Davidson is hosting the October 14 SNL premiere
Originally scheduled to Host on May 6, 2023, Pete Davidson's episode was canceled due to the WGA strike. Now, he'll get a fresh chance to host, helming the Season 49 premiere. It will be Davidson's first time hosting SNL.
Pete Davidson was an SNL cast member from 2014-2022, departing in Season 47. He stars in the loosely autobiographical Peacock series Bupkis, and has spent the fall of 2023 on a standup tour with former SNL writer John Mulaney.
Ice Spice is the October 14 musical guest
Named Best New Artist at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, this will be rapper Ice Spice's first time as an SNL musical guest Her music has reached more than 4 billion global streams in the past year and in May 2023, she teamed up with Taylor Swift for a remix of Swift's "Karma."
Why was Saturday Night Live not on?
SNL goes on summer hiatus every year—meaning, there are never any regular episodes during that time. But Season 48 was shortened by three episodes.

The episodes were canceled in compliance with the WGA strike, which was officially settled at midnight on September 27, 2023.
