Sofia Vergara's Shoes & Purses Are All Color Coordinated in Her Massive Walk-In Closet
The AGT Judge opened the doors of her beautiful L.A. property for Architectural Digest.
In February, America's Got Talent's Sofia Vergara became the newest star to invite Architectural Digest (AD) inside her home, offering a delightful tour of her sprawling property in Beverly Park.
Though the AGT Judge admitted she thought the house was "horrific" when she first saw it (likening it to "a castle in Transylvania") she and designers Timothy Corrigan and Ohara Davies-Gaetano worked for years to transform it into her perfect dream home. The actress explained to AD that she wanted to create a space that was “homey and comfortable, a place where people would want to hang out and relax," during the renovation process.
“I’m not afraid to spend money, but it has to be for something practical, not just things that are there to look good," she said. "I didn’t want furniture that is so precious that people would be afraid to use and enjoy it."

During the 11-minute tour fans get a look at her beautiful living room, bedroom, garden, and more. However, we couldn't help but be particularly awed by her massive walk-in closet. Floor-to-ceiling shelves were filled with rows of color coordinated clothing, shoes, and purses — many of which we've probably seen Vergara rock on AGT.

"This is where I spend most of my time," she said. "This is like a girl's girl's dream. I was thinking about this closet for a long time because I love everything that is organized by color and Linda Cooper Smith designed this amazing, amazing closet for me. And I try to keep it as organized as you see it, but sometimes it is hard."
The space also had sentimental detail, with Vergara revealing she keeps a black and white photo of her late brother, Rafael, and her "favorite cousin" from when they were babies. Rafael was tragically shot and killed in 1998 in her native Colombia during a kidnapping attempt.

The star opened up about his death during AGT 15 following the Golden Buzzer Audition of season winner, Brandon Leake. He performed a moving poem which remembered his late sister, who also died in the '90s.
"My brother passed away the same year that your sister passed away," she said. "I can feel your pain. I know what this is. I know what it is to have somebody taken from you without you knowing. But it was very beautiful for me."
The AD tour also made way for another touching moment from Vergara when she opened up about the dream item she was finally able to purchase for her house.
"My whole life, how Americans say 'bucket list', it was to own anything that I could afford from Fernando Botero," she said, pointing to a painting of a "voluptuous" matador in Botero's signature style hanging on a wall in her living room. "One of the most amazing, prolific artists in Colombia and in Latin America, and I always dreamed of having one... I still have the picture of when he came out to my hometown in Barranquilla, and then last year I got the real one."
