Terry Fator Yodeling a Brooks & Dunn Song with His Mouth Closed Is Jaw-Dropping
What an incredible performance from the AGT winner.
Fans are constantly amazed at the talent that comes out of Terry Fator's mouth — especially when it's closed.
In an April 10 Instagram post, the Season 2 winner of America's Got Talent revealed his latest puppet-assisted masterpiece: a cover of"My Maria" by Brooks & Dunn, where he channels the duo's iconic voices expertly.
It's jaw-dropping, really. Fator has fine-tuned his legendary Act so precisely that the video will stop fans in their tracks. Fator's reasoning for covering this particular song was simple: His puppet, Walter, loves to sing it! (Fair enough.)
"Walter loves to sing 'My Maria' by Brooks & Dunn. He says it's the perfect blend of country soul and bluesy highs," Fator captioned.

The song is right up Walter's alley, with plenty of high notes showing off Fator's unbelievable ventriloquist skills. And is that a little yodeling we hear? Brooks & Dunn would be proud.

Being able to sing so well without opening your mouth is one thing, but being able to impersonate the voices of countless celebrities and musical artists makes what Fator does even more impressive.
Over the years, fans have seen him channel artists like Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, and other iconic stars. Now, Fator can add this legendary country duo to that list.
Here's what to know about "My Maria"
Originally released as a single in 1973 by B. W. Stevenson, "My Maria" enjoyed commercial success. Still, it wasn't until Brooks & Dunn released their version of the track that it skyrocketed up the charts.
When the duo released "My Maria" in 1996 and included it on their album Borderline, it became a smash hit, topping the charts and earning Brooks & Dunn a Grammy for Best Country Performance by a Vocal Group or Duo. The song enjoyed a three-week run at the number-one spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, as well.
In a 2021 interview with American Songwriter, Kix Brooks revealed that not many people realize that the duo didn't originally write the song, and it was once a sore subject for him.
"I read some article the other day that said, 'It was Brooks & Dunn's most defining song,' and that's probably one of the few that we did not write, so it kind of hurt my feelings, but I'm over it," he confessed.
