Check Out Who's in the Law & Order Cast for Season 23
The talented detectives and lawyers of Law & Order have kept fans entertained for decades.
NBC's Law & Order is back, and Season 23 is shaking up to be an exciting ride.
The iconic flagship series first ended its impressive 20-season run in 2010, but the franchise lived on in full force with spin-offs like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime.
The mothership series then made its triumphant return in February 2022. Season 21, 22, and now 23 have featured both returning and new characters, many of which elevated the 27th Precinct and assured its continued success.

While the compelling cases and gripping courtroom deliberations have kept Law & Order fans on the edge of their seats for decades, the talented Detectives are what keep viewers coming back for more. Below, see a breakdown of everyone in the Season 23 cast of Law & Order.
Which actors are in the Law & Order Season 23 cast?
The Season 23 cast of Law & Order includes Sam Waterston, Camryn Manheim, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi, and Mehcad Brooks.
In addition, the latest season introduced a new investigator: Detective Vincent Riley, played by Veep star Reid Scott.
The cops and legal counsel of Law & Order have put hundreds of nefarious criminals behind bars, and fans can't get enough of the dynamite characters.
Sam Waterston as District Attorney Jack McCoy
Fans of the original run of Law & Order were excited to see Waterston return to the new Law & Order cast in Season 21, reprising his role as Jack McCoy. The longtime district attorney leads a revamped team of police and legal experts tackling NYC's toughest criminals.
Waterston has returned each season since; the actor is the longest-running cast member for the flagship series.
Camryn Manheim as Lieutenant Kate Dixon
Manheim is also a Law & Order veteran, having guest-starred in three episodes during the initial run. For the series reboot, Manheim secured her role as the no-nonsense Lieutenant Kate Dixon, the successor to S. Epatha Merkerson’s Anita Van Buren from the original run.
Dixon is an incredible commanding officer of the Manhattan North Homicide Squad, leading several high-stakes cases and always making sure she gets her perp. Dixon has also made several guest appearances in SVU and Law & Order: OC, largely due to her ceaseless wisdom and unfaltering dedication.
Hugh Dancy as Assistant District Attorney Nolan Price
Dancy is another member of Law & Order's new era of stars, playing Assistant District Attorney Nolan Price, the defense attorney-turned-prosecutor.
McCoy hired Price after the resignation of ADA Michael Cutter (Linus Roache), quickly noting Price's passion and attentiveness to the little details. Price has a loaded past that drives his passion for seeing criminals go behind bars, and his skills in the courtroom always secure a fair trial.
Odelya Halevi as Assistant District Attorney Samantha Maroun
Halevi joined the new Law & Order cast in Season 21 as Samantha Maroun, an endearingly direct ADA who wishes to see justice served within the courtroom.
Like Price, Maroun's tragic history led to her courtroom career as she handles every case that comes her way with panache. Maroun is never afraid to speak her truth and stand up for what's right, the makings of an exemplary ADA.
Mehcad Brooks as Detective Jalen Shaw
Brooks joined the cast of Law & Order in Season 22 as the driven Detective Jalen Shaw, who joined the 27th Precinct after the exit of Anthony Anderson's Kevin Bernard. Shaw became a police officer after practicing law for three years.

After discovering being a lawyer wasn't his beat, Shaw took his skills to the other side of the legal system as a cop. Shaw has since proven himself to be an exceptional detective and the 27th Precinct's ace-in-the-hole.
Reid Scott as Detective Vincent Riley
Law & Order fans first met Detective Vincent Riley in the Season 23 premiere, where he teamed up with Shaw and McCoy's crew to solve a high-stakes murder case. Riley hit the ground running within the case, at one point even saving Shaw's life when the investigation got messy.
Law & Order fans can't wait to see what Riley does next.
