You'll Be Obsessed with This Song Gina Miles Released Before She Won The Voice
Just two years before winning The Voice Season 23, Miles released an amazing original song and music video.
The Voice Season 23 Winner Gina Miles already has some impressive music under her belt!
In 2021, before her much-deserved victory, the 19-year-old singer released her original tune "Incredibly Impatient", which you can check out here. The track also has a cool music video that takes place in a vintage-inspired theater while Miles' deep, indie-inspired vocals contrast with the thumping beating of the drum. Meanwhile, the lyrics tell the story of someone who is getting sick of waiting around for their lover.
"Incredibly Impatient" is the third track off of Miles's debut EP titled Who Are You. With six versatile songs that show off Miles's unique soulful voice, the EP can be checked out on Spotify here.
Inside Gina Miles' journey on The Voice
Miles made her debut on The Voice when she sang a haunting rendition of "The One That Got Away" by Katy Perry during her Blind Audition, earning a chair turn from both Kelly Clarkson and Niall Horan. Miles ended up picking Horan's team, and he helped her grow exponentially in the competition.
“I love voices with so much like character, like you’ve got,” Horan told Miles after her audition. “That was incredible to see you get up there and really hit those notes with proper control. Like, for such a young girl, it’s incredible.”
“You went for the big chords, but you were so amazing in the early moments of the song," Horan added. "They are the moments that are like, oh God, you know when you hear a good verse sung by someone who really means what they’re singing, there’s no better feeling. I’ve been there, I’ve walked through a competition like that.”
Miles made it past The Knockouts, Battle Rounds, and Playoffs with her amazing powerhouse vocals, including a haunting performance of "Wicked Games" by Chris Isaak. Unsurprisingly, she also landed a spot in Finale episodes in the Top Five. For her Finale performance, she and Horan sang Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" together.
Miles ended up securing the number one spot during Season 23, something that Horan — a first-time Coach Horan — had a feeling would happen.
"I'm pretty confident [that] I've got the Season 23 winner on my team," Horan told NBC's Mark Barger. "The longer [the] competition goes on, the more I realize that I may have a chance of at least having someone in the finale. At least we’ll be making it to the finale. And yeah, I do think I've got the winner."
