The Americas Narrator Tom Hanks Has Hilarious Cameo in Son Chet's Music Video (WATCH)
Tom Hanks and his son, Chet, recreated some iconic movie scenes for a new music video.
The Hanks family is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.
One minute, you're finding out Tom (narrator of NBC's The Americas) is a descendant of US President Abraham Lincoln and the next, son Chet (real name: Chester) is releasing a music video inspired by his dad's second Oscar-winning role. No joke! Actor/musician Chet Hanks, who makes up one half of the Country duo known as Something Out West, recently dropped a music video inspired by 1994's Forrest Gump for a song appropriately titled "You Better Run."

Naturally, father Tom makes an appearance, sitting alongside his third child on a recreation of the iconic bench from the original movie that took home a total of six Academy Awards at the 67th annual ceremony: Best Director, Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, Best Editing, and Best Picture.
The Something Out West music video highlights of number of key story elements from Robert Zemeckis-directed feature, including the mysterious feather, Forrest's relationship with Jenny, a shrimping vessel, and the titular character's epic run across the United States.

"It's been a long road [of] blood, sweat, and tears. I was born and raised in LA I'll forever be an LA dude, but I also kind of have a love-hate relationship with it," Chet, who was born from Tom's second marriage to Rita Wilson, said in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. "Growing up, people always just as one thing, which was Tom Hanks' son. When people see you as just being one thing, a lot of expectations come with that. What your personality must be like or what kind of person you are ... I've worked hard to establish my own identity. Being different than my dad, just naturally, is what got people's attention from the beginning. To me, it was nothing. To everybody else, it was like, 'Oh my God! This is so crazy!'"

It seems Chet's road to creating his own personality outside of his father's success includes a fun little wink to one of his dad's greatest roles ever in the above music video, where his dad ultimately has a cameo as one of the people sitting next to Chet's version of Forrest on a park bench.
