Blake Shelton Opens Up About His Emotional Final Season | The Voice | NBC

Back in 2012, two country mega-stars, Blake Shelton and Brad Paisley, joined forces to sing a rendition of their duet "Don't Drink the Water, " and the fun performance came with a little twist at the end.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

The performance started out with Paisley strumming his guitar before Shelton jumped in with his vocals. Their signature country twangs blended together perfectly, and they seemed to have a blast on stage. But the best part? During the fiddle solo, Shelton leaned towards Paisley and planted a peck on his cheek, prompting the crowd to go wild.

Watch the memorable performance here!

As for Shelton's recent endeavors, he wrapped up his final episode as a Coach on The Voice this May. He gave a farewell to his 23-season run in a sentimental Instagram post

"Can't believe it's been 23 seasons of @nbcthevoice... and especially can't believe today is my final episode. It's bittersweet. When we signed up for season 1, I don't think any of us knew what this was going to be.. These past 12 years I have made lifelong friends and memories. I've had the great opportunity to coach some really talented Artists, nine, who have taken home #TeamBlake wins (let's make that 10 tonight?), and watch these Artists grow so much from the show. Thank you to everyone... the crew, the Coaches, the Contestants, the fans, and my wife who have made these some really great years. Love y'all!!!!!!", Shelton captioned the post.

Shelton announced that he would be departing The Voice after Season 23 in October 2022.

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23,” he said in a statement. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best."

Blake Shelton appears on The Voice.

He continued, "It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week. I’ve made lifelong bonds with [Host] Carson [Daly] and every single one my fellow Coaches over the years, including my wife, Gwen Stefani! I have to give a huge shoutout to the singers–the ‘Voices,’ who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent, and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their Coach. Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these Artists, us Coaches, and everyone at The Voice who are chasing their dreams. It would not happen without you!"
