Gwen Stefani Reflects On First Red Carpet Date With Blake Shelton

In a November interview on The Drew Barrymore ShowGwen Stefani opened up about the light Blake Shelton has added to her life.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

“God just put us together; it was one of those miracle situations where I didn’t see it coming,” Stefani said during the interview, according to Access.

She continued, “I was like, ‘I’m gonna wake up every day, I’m gonna have a coffee, I’m gonna take care of my kids, and then I’m gonna go to bed. I’m never gonna kiss anyone, I’m never gonna'–you know what I mean? I thought my life was over."

However, things took a turn when Shelton entered her life. “And then Blake Shelton’s like, ‘Hey! I’m Blake Shelton!’” Stefani said.

Stefani and Shelton first met when Stefani joined as a Coach on The Voice in 2014. Even thought Stefani didn’t know Shelton existed before she came on the show, she was drawn to his talent. The two officially tied the knot in summer 2021.

Stefani told Barrymore that she and Shelton are a match made in heaven. “Finding a best friend and someone who is on the same plane when it comes to morals or the way you look at life, that’s the dream," she said. "Just having someone who's like, we think the same about things."

She added, “We’re so different, like he’s watching football and doing his stuff that he does, and I’m putting makeup on. We are so different, yet we’re so the same on so many levels."

Watch both Stefani and Shelton as Coaches on The Voice on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.
