Hoda Kotb's Daughter Doing Her Mom's Job on TODAY Is the Absolute Sweetest
"That's the future of the TODAY show right there," Jimmy Fallon told Kotb, after sharing the adorable clip.
TODAY is a family — in this case, literally.
Morning TV icons Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie were on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 5 to talk about all of their exciting upcoming coverage on NBC, including Super Tuesday and the Paris 2024 Olympics this summer.
The duo's keeping extra busy these days. Guthrie's new book, Mostly What God Does, is a literary sensation and no. 1 New York Times bestseller. Meanwhile, Kotb has a hit podcast, Making Space, and she also wrote a new children's book, Hope Is a Rainbow, out March 5.

Speaking of kids, Host Jimmy Fallon brought up how Kotb recently did something special for her daughter, Haley, inviting her entire first grade class to a taping of TODAY.
"They were in Studio 1A, Jimmy," said Kotb. "They came in during a live taping of the show, 24 first-graders. They rocked it y'all. It was so sweet."
A concerned Fallon, who also has two daughters asked, "Were you afraid they were gonna be disruptive? It could be a disaster."
Hoda Kotb's daughter read the TODAY teleprompter like a pro
"They really minded their Ps and Qs. It was super sweet," answered Kotb, relieved.
To show how well behaved they were while on set, Fallon shared an adorable clip of Kotb's daughter Haley, reading a teleprompter from the TODAY with Hoda & Jenna desk.
"We're live in New York City, and you're watching the TODAY show," said Haley, sitting next to one of her classmates. Like mother like daughter!
"That's the future of the TODAY show right there," said Fallon after the clip ended, he then revealed that Haley and her sister Hope accompanied their mom to The Tonight Show taping, and showed them sitting in the audience. Maybe Haley can try her hand at The Tonight Show teleprompter next?

Kotb's new book, Hope Is a Rainbow, might be aimed at kids, but as Guthrie told Fallon, "actually any adult needs to be reminded of this right now." She also revealed how Kotb's encouragement "is the reason" she was able to finish writing Mostly What God Does.
Kotb and Guthrie also played a round of Catchphrase with Fallon—watch it below, and watch The Tonight Show weeknights at 11:35/10:35c, streaming next day on Peacock.
