Based on the 2019 documentary of the same name, the deep-sea thriller recounts the true story of saturation divers Duncan Allcock and Dave Yuasa, who defied impossible odds to save their colleague, Chris Lemons, from the ocean floor during what was supposed to be a routine job in 2012. Woody Harrelson (Zombieland) and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) play Allcock and Yuasa, while Finn Cole (Animal Kingdom) tackles the role of Lemons.

“This is the story I’ve lived with for 10 years now, and I know it inside out,” director Alex Parkinson, who co-wrote the script with Mitchell LaFortune and producer David Brooks, said in an official statement. “It was such a vast canvas I could paint the story on, much bigger than the documentary. I aimed to do more than just remake the documentary. I wanted to tell this remarkable story on the grandest scale possible, and explore new dimensions of the characters’ emotional journeys."
“It’s so rare to come across such a gripping story that feels truly original,” adds Brooks. “The world of saturation diving really hadn’t been explored in a narrative feature before, certainly not at this scale. I was further drawn to the uniqueness of the characters and the intimacy of their dynamics."
Parkinson also directed the documentary source material, on which he shared credit with Richard da Costa.

Last Breath is now available to rent ($19.99) and/or purchase ($24.99) on PVOD digital platforms like Vudu and Apple TV, and more. Customers will receive exclusive bonus content with their copy of the film, including a making-of featurette, gag reel, and commentary track recorded by Parkinson and Brooks.
