The Caribbean ain't just for sword-fighting, rum-swigging, treasure-seeking scalawags anymore, as viewers will learn in tonight's new episode of The Americas on NBC.

How to Watch

Watch The Americas Sundays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

In the third-to-last installment of the limited nature docuseries (there are 10 in total) exploring the vast beauty of both North and South America, Academy Award-winning narrator Tom Hanks shines a spotlight on the stunning wildlife in and around the crystal-clear waters of the tropical region comprising the Bahamas, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and more.

In "The Caribbean," audiences can expect to learn about the habits of squid-hunting sperm whales, migrating red crabs, clever capuchin monkeys, lightning-fast sailfish, and territorial hummingbirds. Just think of The Americas Episode 8 as a pseudo-vacation to the one of the hottest getaway spots on the planet.

Is The Americas new tonight? (Sunday, March 30)

Yes, it is! “The Caribbean" — the eighth episode of The Americas — is slated to premiere tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET tonight on NBC. Tune in an hour earlier at 7:00 p.m. ET to catch an encore presentation of Episode 6, “The Gulf Coast."

"The form of it is very different in that it’s not a kind of encyclopedic look at this incredible supercontinent," series executive producer Mike Gunton (LifePlanet Earth IIDynastiestold IndieWire. "It is much more of an experiential journey, much more about intimate connections with the animals. Because it is a kind of ultimate safari. We are saying that if money and time were no object, where would you go? What are the quintessential hotspots? And each episode is one of those hotspots that defines both that place, but also, together, defines the whole of the supercontinent. And, of course, every safari needs a great guide. And we’ve got Tom Hanks."
