Kelly Clarkson's Flawless Cover Of an '80s Classic Will Have You On Your Feet
Kick off your Sunday shoes with this jaw-dropping Kellyoke cover.
At this point in her lucrative career, everyone knows that Kelly Clarkson is a vocal legend. And she continues to prove that in The Kelly Clarkson Show's beloved Kellyoke segment.
For the November 28 episode, Clarkson tackled the 1984 bop we all know and love, Deniece Williams' "Let's Hear It For The Boy" from the timeless film, Footloose. Needless to say, Clarkson's rendition of the track will make you want to cut loose on the spot.
Clarkson always knows how to get her audience on their feet, making her choice to cover the famous Footloose track all the more perfect. She and her background singers sang each verse with excellence, beaming with each note of the dance-heavy hit. Yet again, Clarkson proved that she can tackle any challenging song and make it look easy, as she upped the vocal ante with each additional "Let's hear it for the boys!" While Clarkson is known for switching the song's style up for her Kellyoke segment, she embraced the original track's sound to maintain its '80s flair while giving the audience timelessly stunning vocals, as usual.
The upbeat dance classic ended on a perfect note (literally) when Clarkson concluded the Kellyoke with in an angelic high key for the line, "Let's hear it for my baby." She finished the performance like the singing savant she truly is, giving us all a rendition that would have Williams herself grooving to the beat.
Season 3 of The Kelly Clarkson Show has brought fans an impressive lineup of breathtaking covers, including Rihanna's "We Found Love", Whitney Houston's "Queen of the Night", and Adele's "Rumor Has It" to name just a few bangers.
