What do Martha Stewart, lifestyle mogul and Yes, Chef! co-host, and Glen Powell, rising Hollywood front man, have in common?

How to Watch

Watch the series premiere of Yes, Chef! on Monday, April 28 at 10/9c on NBC.

Well, usually not much, but the two recently found themselves bonding over their love of condiments, Paul Newman, and an irresistible recipe for a mighty tasty cocktail during the most recent episode of The Martha Stewart Podcast. The drink in question is Martha's Pomegranate "Martha-Rita," which is the perfect beverage to quench your thirst as the weather begins to turn warmer.

Powell, who recently co-starred in Twisters, was a guest on Martha's podcast to promote his new line of organic, yet affordable, condiments, Smash Kitchen. Right now, the lineup includes Regular Ketchup, Hot Honey Ketchup, Hot Honey BBQ, American BBQ, Dijon, Regular Mustard, Mayonnaise, and Spicy Mayonnaise.

"You have to have something that's delicious at a point that people can afford — otherwise they're never gonna make the change," the actor explained of the ethos behind the company. "And so, I'm just really proud that we're not gouging people on an organic product."

While he may be one of the hottest celebrities in the world right now, Powell isn't interested in having his extremely handsome punim on the packaging — à la the late Paul Newman. Interestingly, we have Martha Stewart to thank for the Newman's Own collection of salad dressings.

How Martha Stewart helped actor Paul Newman with his salad dressing line

"Paul and [Newman's Own co-founder] A. E. Hotchner were friends of mine," Martha said on the podcast. "The three of us sat and I added stuff to the salad dressing ... I sat there, [looking at] his baby-blue eyes, tasting and saying, 'No, Paul, you have to add some more [of this], it has to have real olive oil, you have to do this, you have to do that.' They were just having fun, but I was very serious about it. I wanted it to taste like my vinaigrette, not like some crummy, out-of-the-bottle vinaigrette. And it is a good salad dressing. Then they came up with a whole lot of other products that I tasted and helped with a little bit."

Martha Stewart's Pomegranate "Martha-Rita" Recipe

Martha Stewart smiles in a purple jacket.

Later on in the conversation, Stewart grilled (pun intended) Powell on his favorite meats and drink of choice while hosting a barbecue. He admitted that he's "a tequila man," which prompted Stewart to recommend her ice-cold Martha-Rita.

"I'm going to hit you up next time I have a barbecue," Powell promised.

But don't worry, you don't need to be Hollywood A-lister to get your hands on the recipe, which is included below (via Parade)...

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Casa Dragones Blanco
  • 2 cups freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 cup triple sec
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate concentrate
  • 1-2 cups of ice cubes
