Melissa Peterman Looks Unrecognizable with Red Hair Styled Exactly Like Reba McEntire
The country legend once said she was a “little jealous” her Happy's Place co-star could pull off both hair colors.
Melissa Peterman and Reba McEntire’s friendship is one of the ages. When they’re not starring on Happy’s Place together and having an absolute blast with every Reba reunion, they can't stop gushing about each other.
“She’s just one of my best friends, I will always love her forever and ever,” McEntire told Entertainment Tonight in 2024, while Peterman told the outlet in another interview that the country legend feels “like coming home.”
“In this business, we have a lot of ‘Hollywood friends’ and you have friends that you share just the good stuff with. I think I knew that when we started sharing the, like, real life stuff, that it was forever," Peterman said about McEntire. "I know she’s got my back. Whether we ever work together again, she is on my side always and she knows I’m [on] hers.”

Indeed, Peterman and McEntire are true besties who’ve been known to break out into an a cappella duet of “I’m a Survivor.” And manage to look like just each other, despite one being a bright blonde from Minnesota and the other being one of the most famous redheads around.

In a sweet selfie of Happy’s Place duo, Peterman looks unrecognizable in a red wig that’s styled with McEntire’s signature bangs and flippy layers. “One of us is wearing a wig,” Peterman captioned the photo on Instagram in 2020.
Fans really loved seeing Peterman as a redhead. So much so that they’re on board if she ever decides to switch up her blonde locks. “You look good as a redhead!” one commented on the photo, while another added, “That wig looks amazing on you!” One more said, “It’s becoming on you!!! It looks very natural!!”
This actually isn’t the first time Peterman has thrown on a red wig to look just like her bestie. As Reba fans might recall, the actress who played Barbra Jean shocked her co-star when she walked in with red hair and bangs in a 2003 episode titled “Seeing Red.”
“Who says blondes have more fun?” Peterman wrote in a TikTok of the memorable moment. “I had the most fun doing this scene!!” On Facebook, McEntire said that was “one of my favorite Reba moments” and added that she was a “little jealous” Peterman can “look good as a blonde AND a redhead.”

While McEntire has sported strawberry blonde hair, she’s never gone fully bright blonde like Peterman. But the “Consider Me Gone” singer isn’t afraid of a drastic hair change. As McEntire told Glamour, she “loved it” when she cut her hair super short in the ‘90s. “It was freeing,” she said, adding that it gave folks “something else to talk about” at the time.
Should the queen of country ever go bleach blonde, history would certainly repeat itself.
