Rob Gronkowski Thinks He "Won" This Dance-Off with Travis Kelce
"We're great dance partners—imagine if we were teammates on the field," teased Gronk, who shared his Super Bowl LVIII prediction and revealed to one of the two teams who asked him to un-retire this season.
Football seems to be on everybody's minds this week, as the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers head to their second Super Bowl matchup in four years. And who better to weigh in on the forthcoming game—and football in general–than Rob Gronkowski, who visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 29. Gronk shared his Super Bowl LVIII predictions, and looked back at a moment he and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shared back in ____..
"Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl?" Jimmy Fallon asked the former New England Patriots tight end, wasting no time at the very top of their interview.
"I'm gonna go with the San Francisco 49ers," Gronkowski replied. "They got a lot of firepower. They've got so many weapons at every position: Wide receiver, running back, tight end. Their offensive line is solid. They got a pretty solid defense."
"Kansas City defense has been showing up like no other this year," Gronkowski added. "But I'm still gonna go with the 49ers."

If Gronk sounds like a sports analyst there, that's because he is: Since retiring from the NFL in June 2022, the 34-year-old athlete has provided commentary alongside former teammate Julian Edelman.
While he may be rooting for the 49ers on February 11, Gronkowski has shared some good times with star Kansas Chiefs player Kelce—including a dance contest between the two.
Rob Gronkowski shared a video of his dance-off against Travis Kelce
"I know that you and Travis are friendly, but you also beat him in a dance contest at one of your events," Fallon said, referring to Gronkowski's annual Gronk Beach event in Las Vegas.
Fallon shared a video clip of Gronkowski and Kelce's dance-off, which was more of a butt-shaking contest between the two as Madonna's "Hung Up" plays. It might be better described as a "shuffle-off," though in their defense, the stage was VERY narrow and they're used to commanding entire football fields.
"That was kind of a tie," Gronkowski admitted. "I mean, we're great dance partners. Imagine if we were teammates on the field, on the same team, as well. Oh, man, that would be pretty impressive. We would dominate, like the dance floor."
No wonder NFL teams think they can get Gronkowski to un-retire.
Two teams asked Rob Gronkowski to come out of retirement this season
Gronkowski famously retired in 2019, but came back to play alongside Tom Brady before retiring again for good.
"You don't have to say any specific teams, and it's just between us, but give me a number," Fallon asked Gronkowski, "how many NFL teams called you this season to see if you'd come out of retirement?"
"Two of them actually did, and I'll give you a clue," Gronkowski said. "One of them was here in this city."

As for whether he weighed coming back one more time, "I'd consider it for like two seconds, you know? It felt good. It boosted my ego a little bit," Gronkowski admitted. "I was like, 'Yeah, thanks, coach. You still think I have it. I appreciate that, but...I'm happily retired, man.'I did my time. Eleven years. Eleven surgeries!"
Gronkowski was down to join Fallon in a Random Object Field Goal Kicking Contest—watch that below.
