Why Blake Shelton Used His Only Save on the ‘Super-Talented’ Dryes
The country duo is sticking around!
Bryce Leatherwood and country-music duo The Dryes delivered an impressive Battle on The Voice Season 22, Episode 12 (which aired October 25th). They performed “Red Dirt Road” by Brooks & Dunn and earned so much praise from the Coaches.
Leatherwood won the Battle, with Camila Cabello saying, "Mr. Leatherwood really shined for me. I felt more at ease hearing and watching him. There was a calm confidence. For whatever reason, I resonated with Bryce more on this performance."
Gwen Stefani also showered the young singer with compliments, telling him, "When Mr. Leatherwood came in, your voice is so warm." And John Legend said, "Bryce, your voice is so pure...You just execute everything with precision and confidence and ease."
However, The Dryes also killed it. As Cabello remarked, "[The Dryes], your harmonies were really tight, you guys hit every note."
Thankfully, Blake Shelton, the Coach for both The Dryes and Bryce Leatherwood, agreed. He used his only Save from the Battles on The Dryes, declaring, "[They] are super-talented. They just got behind the beat [during their Battle performance], and I know they're better musicians than that. If there's anything I can do to give someone a second chance, then I'm 'gonna do that. And that's why I used my Save."
So with this, The Dryes will advance to the Knockouts, as well. But do they have what it takes to win it all? To find out, watch The Voice on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.
