Harvey Specter is Back for the First Time Since the Finale in Suits LA Teaser
A new teaser reveals that Harvey Specter is back in the present day for the first time on Suits LA.
Look who’s back! This week is the start of a two-episode Suits LA event in which top attorney, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) from the original show, Suits, shows up and shakes things up once again.
An NBC teaser for Suits LA’s new episode, airing Sunday, April 13 at 9/8c, comes with a headline certain to have fans of the legal-eagle franchise walking on air. It reads: "Harvey Specter has arrived."
Havey Specter returns for the first time since the original finale in Suits LA
NBC Insider previously reported that Harvey (Gabriel Macht) will have a three-episode arc on Suits LA. He first appeared in the fourth episode.
The brief sneak peek of Episode 8 shows Harvey in the airy apartment of his friend, Ted Black (Stephen Amell), former federal New York prosecutor-turned-LA entertainment and criminal lawyer.
Holding mugs, the men banter and rib each other like old pals.
“Winners don’t greet the day in sweatpants,” says Harvey, who is, as always, dressed to kill.
“You have too many sayings,” responds Ted, whose history with Harvey reaches back to their pasts in New York.
A flashback sequence in Episode 4 recalled younger, but no less dramatic days. Following a baseball game – Ted pitched, Harvey played shortstop – the guys talked shop.
At that time Ted was working a case that involved the mob. This case preceded Ted’s move to the West Coast and his career change. Exactly what went down during this legal proceeding remains to be seen. Suits LA has been letting that come out bit-by-bit.
In current-day LA, Ted is up to his eyeballs in legal drama after successfully defending a high-profile client in a murder case following a nearly career-ending merger that he was blindsided by in the premiere.
Judging by the 30-second teaser for Episode 8, it seems that Ted and Harvey’s relationship will come into a sharper, if not ominous, focus as the storyline toggles between the past and present with the stakes higher and more dangerous than ever for both men.
“Fun time is over. I want to remember why we are here,” Ted tells Harvey.
“It involves doing some bad things,” says Harvey.
When Ted asks, “What kind of bad things?” Harvey’s answer sends shivers. “Crossing lines, taking risks,” he says, “Maybe even breaking a few laws.”
The sight of someone reaching for a gun and a car exploding amp up the tension and intrigue.
Suffice it to say that we want to know more – about the mob case, why Ted traded New York for Los Angeles, and what makes Ted and Harvey’s friendship tick.
As the teaser wraps, the men touch upon that very topic as they clink glasses.
“We make a good team,” says Ted, to which Harvey deadpans, “Wish I could say the same thing.” Ted backtracks, saying, “I didn’t mean it.” And Harvey, as always, gets the last word, saying: “Yes, you did.”
We mean it when we say this Suits LA is an event that’s not to be missed.
Catch Suits LA Sundays at 9 p.m. on NBC with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
