Here's how to catch up on all the drama at the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.

When Yellowstone first premiered in 2018, few could have predicted just how big this neo-Western from creators Taylor Sheridan and John Linson would grow. Set in the wilds of Montana, Yellowstone follows John Dutton III, played by Kevin Costner, and his struggles to keep his family's legacy — the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch — alive and well.

And if that struggle requires John, his family, and his cowboys to occasionally toy around on the wrong side of the law? All the better.

The series, now in its fifth and final season, features episodes jam-packed with drama at the ranch and at the bordering Broken Rock Indian Reservation, in Yellowstone National Park, and with greedy developers looking to make a quick buck — bear attacks, cattle emergencies, forbidden romance, stunning vistas, murder ... Yellowstone has it all.

Where can you watch Yellowstone?

Yellowstone Seasons 1 through 5 are available to stream on Peacock

The first five seasons of Yellowstone can be found on Peacock. The NBCUniversal platform offers two monthly subscription plans: Premium ($7.99 a month with ads) and Premium Plus ($13.99 a month with no ads and download access for certain titles). If you're a student, you can enjoy the Premium plan for just $1.99 for an entire year!

Kevin Costner appears in the Season 5 premiere of Yellowstone.

Who stars in Yellowstone's cast?

Costner, who also executive produces the series, stars as John Dutton, the Dutton family patriarch and owner of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, colloquially known as the "Yellowstone Ranch." He's a widower, with his wife Evelyn having passed on several years before the series premiere.

Luke Grimes plays John's youngest son, Kayce Dutton, the family's resident black sheep who left the family business behind in order to marry Monica (Kelsey Asbille), a member of the local Native tribe, and move with her to the fictional Broken Rock Indian Reservation nearby where they raise their son, Tate (Brecken Merrill). The drama surrounding the Reservation, led by High Chief Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), and its relationship with the Yellowstone Ranch play a prominent role in the opening seasons.

Beth Dutton, John's only daughter but by far the toughest of the bunch, is portrayed by Kelly Reilly. She often opposes her older brother Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), who acts as the ranch's legal counsel. Beth's ongoing and ever-complicated relationship with Cole Hauser's Rip Wheeler, Yellowstone's foreman, also serves up plenty of problems.

How many seasons is Yellowstone?

Yellowstone is currently in its fifth and final season.

Season 5 opens with John Dutton having just been elected Governor of Montana, with his daughter Beth at his right hand and Rip running the day-to-day operations on the Dutton Ranch. Jamie is, as usual, going out of his way to poke his nose into his father's affairs, much to Beth's chagrin. Meanwhile, Kayce and Monica are undergoing yet another personal tragedy.

Season 5 Episode 6 of Yellowstone

Season 5 was announced as being the final season in May 2023, coming not long after initial reports of Costner wanting to leave the series behind and focus on other projects. The first half of Season 5 (Episodes 1-8) premiered in November 2022, with the second half (Episodes 9-14) premiering on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
