Why Jojo and Bri's Duet Was One of Simon Cowell's Favorite AGT Auditions
The Judges gave them a standing ovation.
Sometimes, an Act comes across on America's Got Talent that just makes you smile uncontrollably. Jojo and Bri are a shining example of this.
AGT super-fans may recognize Jojo from Resound, a singing trio that competed in Season 15. But for Season 17, Jojo and his niece, Bri, joined forces to create the happiest singing duet we've seen in quite some time.
For their Audition, the two gave their take on the classic song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," and within seconds, you'll see why all four Judges gave them a standing ovation.
Not only were Jojo and Bri's vocal chops excellent, they gave a performance that exuded happiness. As Simon Cowell put it, "That, for me, was the definition of joy and magic."
Bri couldn't hide her smile as the praise kept coming in, and when asked what she would do with the $1 million grand prize, she said, "My dream is to make the world smile and make the world a better place. What to do with the $1 million? I'd like to give back to charity."
To this, Cowell said, "Dreams really do come true on this show," and Jojo and Bri's dream was granted by the end of their performance. All four Judges gave them a "Yes," advancing them to the next round of AGT.
"I loved it," Howie Mandel said about Jojo and Bri's set. "I think this whole room loved it. I think people in America loved it. But even more important, you're going to be remembered."
America's Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
