Al Roker's Family: All About His Wife and Kids
TODAY's affable weatherman is a father of three.
TODAY's longtime weatherman Al Roker is also a devoted family man, spending as much time as he can with the wife and kids who have given him support through everything. And he recently became a grandpa! Read on to learn more about Al Roker's family.

Al Roker's wife, Deborah Roberts, is a broadcaster, too
Now at ABC, Deborah Roberts grew her career as a reporter at NBC, where she met Roker (then a local-to-New York weatherman) in 1990. He was smitten immediately, but Roberts saw him as a friend, and even asked him to watch over her apartment in 1992 when she left town to cover the Summer Olympics.
"And I had to snoop around; I was in the kitchen, and I open up the fridge and there’s nothing in the fridge. Like some old cheese, a bottle of Grey Poupon mustard, and that’s about it," Roker later recalled (via TODAY). While she was away, Roker filled Roberts' refrigerator and pantry with groceries and left flowers and a note on her table to welcome her home. A week later, they were on a date.
Roker and Roberts tied the knot at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in New York City on September 16, 1995 and have stayed together ever since. "I think at the end of the day, we try to make each other laugh," Roker told TODAY.com. "Because a good laugh goes a long way."
Al Roker's kids: He has two daughters and one son
Roker's first daughter, Courtney, was born May 14, 1987, and was adopted by him and his then-wife Alice Bell shortly thereafter. He and Roberts welcomed daughter Leila Ruth on November 17, 1998 and son Nicholas Albert on July 18, 2002.
Nicholas is currently in college, while Leila lives in Paris and is pursuing journalism, just like her parents. Courtney is a chef, and the Roker-Roberts family gained a son (in-law) when she married drama teacher Wesley Laga on June 4, 2021.

Al Roker just became a grandfather
On July 3, 2023, Roker became a grandpa for the first time when Courtney gave birth to daughter Sky Clara Laga.
"It is magical, it really is," Roker told his TODAY co-Hosts of being a grandfather. "The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be 'this thing' and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs., 15 oz. 19 inches long and she’s just perfect."
"[Baby Sky] sleeps for four hours, wakes up, goes to the bathroom, sleeps another four. We’re on the same schedule!" Roker joked, adding that her name was not inspired by Roker's career as a meteorologist. Still so cute!
