Why Barbara Pierce Bush wed Craig Coyne twice
A decade after walking Hager down the aisle at the family ranch in Texas, former President George W. Bush accompanied Barbara to the altar at the family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine. On October 7, 2018 she wed Craig Coyne after just 11 months together. She wore ia silk crepe Vera Wang gown, per the Associated Press, in a "secret ceremony" arranged so that former President George H.W. Bush, who was in ill health, would be able to attend.
Barbara met Coyne, an actor and screenwriter, on a "group blind date" with friends in November 2017, including her sister.

"They tried to give us our space but we were all seated at the same table. But it was so blind that I didn't know what he looked like," she told People. "And so I went up to two guys before him in the lobby, asking if they were him. And then, luckily, a really handsome guy walked in, and I thought, 'Please, maybe this one will be him.' And it was him. And so that was our first date, and he rolled with it."
The two made long distance work — him in L.A. and her in New York — until he moved to Manhattan the week of their wedding.
“It was wonderful. It was everything we wanted. It was small and in a place that we have grown up and have so many incredible memories, in Maine,” the bride told TODAY.com. "We just wanted to make sure we could do it while my grandfather was still healthy.”

Six months later, the newlyweds threw a "big party" in Texas which included a second ceremony and a reception for more than a hundred guests.
About Barbara and Craig's two kids
Barbara let her father reveal the happy news. “With full hearts, Laura [Bush] and I are delighted to announce the birth of our new granddaughter,” the former commander-in-chief said in a statement in September 2021. “Cora is healthy and adorable, and we are proud and grateful."
The NYC-based couple had planned to deliver their first child in the city, but Barbara unexpectedly went into labor during a trip to Maine, and ended up delivering at a hospital named after her grandmother.
"I woke up to a text message on Monday morning.I burst into tears, I was frantic, I woke up (husband) Henry (Hager). He was like, 'What?' I’m like, ‘She’s in labor!'" recalled Bush Hager on TODAY. "One of the things that I think is so cool about my parents is all my dad wrote back to the text: 'God is good.'"

When Barbara gave birth a second time in 2024, it once again fell to the family to spread the word. "My sissy had a little mister and I fell madly in love with Edward Finn! ❤️💗👼" wrote Bush Hager online, sharing a picture of herself feeding the smallest Bush.
"Welcome to the world, Edward Finn Coyne. @laurawbush and I are proud grandparents of our newest blessing, born on August 4 and lovingly named in honor of his great-grandfathers. Congratulations to Barbara, Craig, and big sister Cora Georgia," added the proud granddad in his own post.
