Carson Daly Shared a Heartfelt Message for Blake Shelton's Last Day on The Voice
Daly isn't letting the Coach go without a big shoutout!
Blake Shelton's legacy on The Voice will be remembered by everyone, but he will be especially missed by the Host and Shelton's long-time friend Carson Daly.
On May 23, the day of Shelton's last episode as a Coach, Daly took to his official Instagram page to share some personal photos of him and Shelton, paying tribute to the country star before he departs the series.
The snapshots show Shelton and Daly chilling together on a couch, on the set of The Voice, outside of a church, and them smiling together while hanging out at a bar.
"Today’s just gonna be weird! No other way to put it. For over 12 years I’ve watched the cowboy do his thing on @nbcthevoice & we have laughed & had fun, literally the entire time. Thank you buddy! Enjoy your big red chair retirement, you’ve earned it! Now let’s go make a drink! (Bring some ice over from your room, they never gave me any😂) #OneMoreShow," Daly captioned the post, to which Shelton's wife Gwen Stefani responded with a slew of crying emojis.
Shelton announced that Season 23 of The Voice would be his last in October 2022. A month later, Daly opened up to Entertainment Tonight about what he thinks of his friend's departure.
"I hate it," Daly told the outlet. "He and I, obviously, developed a great friendship at The Voice. I'm bummed, but I get it.”
Daly continued, "When we started the show, we had no idea that it would be this successful. We're on twice a year; it's a lot of work. We're lucky to have had him for so long, because most musicians need to tour."
However, this isn't the last we'll see of Shelton and Daly together. Their fun game show Barmageddon is coming back for more partying and competition.
“By the way, we’re doing a Season 2, we’re super excited,” Shelton revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “It’s an art show, OK? You know what I’m saying? We have fun with it. It was actually just an idea that was born out of drinking backstage at The Voice. We were actually watching, there’s a show called Holy Moley, and we were watching that one day and I said, ‘Man, how much more fun would that show be if they were drinking while they were doing it?’ Literally, that’s how we thought of Barmageddon.”
