Viewers tuning in to the February 25 episode of TODAY witnessed an emotional moment shared between Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie.

How to Watch

Watch TODAY weekdays at 7AM ET on NBC.

When a conversation turned to Guthrie's oldest daughter, 10-year-old Vale, Hager couldn't help telling her friend how she felt:

"I'm so lucky to be her godmother," Hager said through tears, revealing the news for the first time to viewers.

"I know, look at you crying — you're going to make me cry," Guthrie said.

Hager reiterated how proud she is of Guthrie's children and gave the TODAY co-anchor one of the greatest compliments ever.

"Everything you've given to them, all of your faith that you pass down so gently, without preaching, without demanding, are in those little kids," Hager said. "And when the world feels dark, that is hope!"

Guthrie had tears in her eyes as she listened to Hager, and it was clear that it was a genuine moment of kinship between the two moms. (Hager has three kids of her own with her husband, Henry.) The two colleagues have an unbreakable bond; sometimes, it shows itself in the most wholesome way.

Hager didn't just gush over Guthrie's parenting out of the blue (although it wouldn't be out of character for the star). She was referring to a wonderful moment that also occurred during the February 25 broadcast. Earlier in the episode, Vale interviewed her mom about her newest book, Mostly What God Does is Love You, and well, it's pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Guthrie talked to her daughter about her special relationship with God, including how she prayed growing up and often spoke to God about her fears. She also confessed that she hoped that Vale and her son, Charley, would one day forge their own relationships with God — and that's when cameras cut to her kids reading from Mostly What God Does is Love You! Guthrie has had a profound effect on her children, and it must be amazing for her to witness.

Little Vale interviewing her mom had to be a highlight of Guthrie's career — the future broadcast journalist definitely has a good head on her shoulders!

Guthrie's spirituality has defined her as a mother, and she's doing her best to impart that same kindness and grace to her children. So far, she must be one proud mama.

Being interviewed by your child is something Guthrie's co-anchor, Craig Melvin, knows a thing or two about — his son Delano did the honors last year, and it was just as adorable.
