John Legend Adorably Holds His Oldest Dog, Penny, As She Wears Heart-Shaped Glasses
The Voice Coach also talked about the pup's heartwarming origin story.
John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, are proud dog parents!
On February 18, The Voice Coach shared the backstory behind the oldest pup in their family, Penny the French Bulldog. In the snapshot, Legend adorably held Penny while the pooch sported pink heart shaped sunglasses.
''Penny was born the week Chrissy and I got married and we got her from a shelter in South Carolina when I was on the All of Me Tour. She’s our oldest and most loving dog,'' he wrote in the caption.

All about John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's three dogs
Teigen introduced Penny, who has three legs, to fans in 2014 by sharing a cute Instagram picture of her chilling outside on a summer day. Since then, the couple has adopted two other dogs, Petey the Poodle and Pearl the Basset Hound.
In January 2020, Teigen shared an Instagram picture of curly-haired Petey when he was just a puppy. ''this little guy grabbed our heart first and will hold onto it forever!'' she captioned the post, before showing us a clip of their 7-year-old daughter Luna playing with the pup.
Seven months later, Teigen posted the most precious snapshot of Pearl looking at the camera with her big brown eyes.
"Pearl has touched down into the legend/teigen/stephens household!" she wrote on the Instagram post. "We love this little girl so much already but I will admit, she has definitely taken to John first!! Penny is obsessed with her so it's been fun watching the adventures of penny and pearl unfold. I grew up with Basset Hounds so I can't wait for John to see this bouncy, no-bones, jello mold of skin grow into the stubborn logs of love I love so much. Since being introduced to the family, the three dogs have gotten along great with Legend and Teigen's children. In October 2023, Legend shared a heartwarming moment of Teigen and Luna taking a nap with Petey.
''Sleeping beauties," Legend lovingly captioned the post.
The three dogs also have a good bond with each other, as Legend shared a snapshot of all of them chilling on a couch together on December 11. In the picture, Penny the French Bulldog rested on a pillow, Pearl the Basset Hound curled up on a couch, and Petey laid on the floor while looking at the camera intrigued.
