Kelly Clarkson Covered 'Falling' by Harry Styles, and It’s Breathtaking
Another day, another showstopping Kellyoke performance.
We can always count on Kelly Clarkson to serve our daily dose of musical inspiration. The vocalist, Host, and all-around queen did what she does best in her May 5th Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show. It's no surprise she brought down the house with her electrifying cover of Harry Styles’ 2019 hit “Falling." No stranger to captivating an audience, Clarkson took her time with the emotional ballad, belting her heart out without breaking a sweat.
Time and time again, Clarkson reminds us why her epic vocal prowess and nuanced approach to storytelling reign supreme. Consistently leading with authenticity, it’s no wonder the three-time Grammy winner makes a perfect Host for American Song Contest (alongside Snoop Dogg). The new NBC music show, currently on air, has seen 56 Artists, each representing either a U.S. state, territory, or Washington, D.C., competing for the title of Best Original Song. The performers are singing their own tracks, and the competition has been narrowed down to 10 of them. They'll all compete in the Grand Final on Monday, May 9.
“[Audiences] like the story. They want to go on that ride and that’s what a great song is all about, being a storyteller,” Clarkson previously told Today about what song she thinks will win ASC. “Regardless if it’s something fun or sad or intense, whatever the feeling or emotion is, I think [the winning song] is going to be something that really resonates story-wise...This is going to be a very hard contest to win, because there’s a lot of people that deserve to win already."
The Grand Final of American Song Contest airs Monday, May 9 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
