Kelly Clarkson Shared a Touching Moment With a Young Fan Battling Cancer
The little girl said Clarkson's song "Stronger" helped her cope with her diagnosis.
Kelly Clarkson has a heart of gold.
On September 22, during Clarkson's appearance on TODAY, she gave her "biggest fan," a little girl battling cancer named Camilla, a heartfelt one-on-one about staying true to yourself.
TODAY Host Hoda Kotb explained how Clarkson found out about Camilla. "I did a Zoom with some kids who were struggling with cancer probably about six months ago. And it was just us talking, and one of the young girls named Camilla said: 'I love Kelly Clarkson.' And I said, 'Y'know what? I only have like, two celebrites' numbers on my phone, Kelly's one of them.' So I hit FaceTime, and I held it up, and Camilla said this." Kotb said.
Then, we see a glimpse of Camilla speaking on Zoom. "If you ever see Kelly Clarkson again, can you tell her that I'm her biggest fan? I really love her song 'Stronger,' because that song made me get through my cancer," Camilla said.
In a beautiful moment, Clarkson noticed Camilla standing in the audience and immediately went in for a big hug. Camilla then told a personal story about her struggling to make friends and fit in at school, to which Clarkson responded with some inspirational advice.
"I did not fit in at school, either, when I was younger. And I think that's [true for] a lot of kids out there," Clarkson said. "You're definitely not alone. A lot of us struggle with finding [their] people. That happens to all of us. You're not alone in that. I was the same way. And look at me now!"

Clarkson is the proud mother of two of her own, 9-year-old River Rose and 7-year-old Remington.
On August 19, Clarkson brought the two adorable kiddos onstage during her Las Vegas residency to perform a rendition of her tune "Heartbeat Song" from her 2015 album Piece by Piece. They first ran onstage and gave their mama a big hug before grooving to the beat with microphones in their hands.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Clarkson opened up about how being a mom has affected her life.
“I think parenting changes you in the best of ways,” she told the outlet in 2020. “It’s made me stronger, but it’s definitely hard. It’s the hardest job out of all the jobs. … I think it makes you selfless. It makes you really prioritize.”
