Michael Shannon Says His Daughter Is Going As a Taylor Swift Album for Halloween
Actor and Eric Larue director Michael Shannon isn't into October 31st, but his daughter is—and he and Jimmy Fallon claim they're in for a very Swiftie Halloween.
Michael Shannon isn't super into Halloween—but he did arrive to the October 30 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon wearing all black ("I look like Herman Munster's friend," he joked). And, as Jimmy Fallon noted, it was the actor's thirteenth appearance on the show, which is arguably spooky. Or, in Shannon's opinion, unlucky.
"I hope nothing falls on me," Shannon deadpanned, before admitting he truly is the type to knock on wood and avoid walking under ladders.
Shannon told Fallon that he "couldn't care less" about the holiday that's also known as Heidi Klum's Super Bowl.
"I mean, I'm an actor, so I dress up like imaginary or other people all the time," Shannon joked. "It's like, 'gimme my money!'"

Shannon's two daughters are much more excited for October 31st—and his 15-year-old had a brilliant Halloween costume idea.
Michael Shannon and Jimmy Fallon's kids are going as Taylor Swift albums for Halloween. Maybe.
"My older daughter is 15 so she's kind of aging out of the trick-or-treating thing," Shannon said. As for his younger daughter, "she was going to try to dress up as 'midnight', which I thought was rather lyrical. Poetic."
"Like a Taylor Swift thing? Midnights?" Fallon asked.
"Yeah, I think that's basically the situation," Shannon said.
"My daughter is going as Taylor Swift too," Fallon shared, adding that she's dressing as an album too: 1989.
Whether or not these claims are true, we're definitely stealing these ideas for next year.

One thing we definitely know for sure: Fallon is ready to go with a 1989 costume of his own.
The Host shared an October 29 Instagram video that found him strutting out of a 30 Rock elevator and into the halls by his studio, rocking a limited-edition baby blue 1989 (Taylor's Version) cardigan as "Welcome to New York" played in his headphones.
"I found this cardigan under my bed," Fallon captioned the photo. "It's my favorite!"
