Mick Jagger Told Jimmy Fallon His "Real Name" When They Got Trapped in a Walk-In Freezer
Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger—or is it Rick Jagger?—is ready to reveal all in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon's walk-in freezer.
Celebrations for the Rolling Stone's first album in 18 years, Hackney Diamonds, continued on the October 24 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Days after his surprise cameos on the October 21 Saturday Night Live, Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger paid a visit to the show.
The week of Hackney Diamonds' October 20 release, Stones guitarist Keith Richards and bassist Ronnie Wood had stopped by the Tonight Show for sit-down interviews, discussing everything from the death of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts to their long history with the Beatles.
Things went a little differently with one-of-a-kind Jagger. At the top of the show, Host Jimmy Fallon wandered into the Tonight Show freezer (located just offstage, where every late night Host keeps their walk-in cooler) and found Mick Jagger just casually hanging out in there.
"I knew that buying a soundproof freezer was a mistake," Fallon told Jagger, after discovering they were locked in.
"Yes, we're doomed," Jagger agreed. Then he kicked off a round of "Freezer Secrets," as ANYONE would do when they're pondering a dark fate in a talk show Host's food storage facility.
"One time, I did get satisfaction," Jagger confessed, referencing the band's 1965 hit. "Way back in 1992." How? "Popping bubble wrap," he said. "It's just so satisfying!"
Mick Jagger Reveals His "Real Name"
Jagger's Freezer Secrets didn't stop there. "You know, I want to tell you my real name," Jagger told Fallon. "It's not Mick. It's...Rick!"
"One time, a barista got it wrong," Jagger stage whispered, leaning in closer,"and I was too polite to correct her!"
