The Voice Coach proved once again why she's one of country's brightest stars.
This is why she's a star!
At Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, the first ever to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, country singer and The Voice Coach Reba McEntire kicked off the festivities with a wonderfully rousing rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," better known as the national anthem.
In an interview with CBS Mornings, McEntire revealed that it's thanks to her boyfriend, Rex Linn, that she took the gig as quickly as she did.
"I got the news from my manager...he said they wanted me to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and I said, 'Oh my gosh, well, let me think about that,'" McEntire recalled. "And Rex Linn, my boyfriend, who is a huge football fan, he said, 'Yes! She’ll do it! Absolutely!'"
