The extended clip from the Universal/Focus Features film starring Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu, and Finn Cole pulls viewers into the dangerous world of saturation diving, and sets the stage for one of the most intense diving rescues in history.

Battling raging swells 20-feet high, Liu and Cole — portraying real-life divers Dave Yuasa and Chris Lemons — leap into the vast darkness, equipped with pressurized helmets to help them stay underwater longer while still connected to the vessel above, just like it’s any other day on the job. But there’s a foreboding feeling as the pair disappears into the darkness to fix an oil rig far below the surface of the North Sea that this time their lives could be at stake.
What is Last Breath About?
The intense thriller tells the real life story of the rescue mission to save Lemons after a computer system failure on September 19, 2012 left him lying on the bottom of the seafloor, no longer tethered to the ship above.
With only limited oxygen at Lemons’ disposal, Yuasa and supervisor Duncan Allcock, played by Harrelson, were in a frantic race against time to rescue Lemons and get all three safely back on board the surging vessel before time ran out.

The extended all-access preview, ominously titled “If The Cable Snaps… It’s All Over,” brings the high-stakes world of saturation diving to life and introduces fans to the three divers whose lives will be irrevocably altered by the rescue mission.
The clip picks up with a shot of a large vessel fighting against a storm’s high winds and large swells in the middle of the North Sea, 127 miles east of the port city of Aberdeen, Scotland. The camera then pans to the boat’s command center, where the crew prepares for a long night ahead. We follow the crew as they prepare for the fateful dive ahead, despite the harrowing conditions.

The final moments of the clip show Lemons standing on a platform, breathing rapidly, before jumping off into the darkness and the unknown below.
