Kelly Clarkson Says Her Fellow Voice Coach Blake Shelton 'Adores Me...Deep Down'
The two had a little reunion on Clarkson's talk show.
During the April 8th episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, fans were treated to a small The Voice reunion when Clarkson's fellow Coach, Blake Shelton, made a brief appearance.
Shelton performed his song "Come Back as a Country Boy" from his latest album, Body Language (Deluxe). Clarkson (who's currently a Host on NBC's American Song Contest) introduced the country star, poking fun at their friendly rivalry as fellow Coaches on The Voice.
"My next guest has dissed me in public and stoked some serious bickering," she joked. "But I know deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep down, he adores me. You just gotta dig for it."
Shelton released Body Language in May 2021 and the extended version of the album several months later. “We wanted to release this deluxe album because some songs came in at a point in time where I wasn’t ready to make a new album,” he told CMT about the re-release. “But I wanted to get these songs out there, so that’s what we decided to do."
He continued, "I want to have some great country songs to sing. I want people to hear the album and enjoy it. I want it to have sad songs that make them sad and happy songs that make them smile. That’s what I feel like my job is. I always want people to feel like they got their money’s worth. As long as they’re like, ‘That’s what I wanted from Blake,’ I’m happy.”
