Also wanna thank @sherman.meloni for going out with me," Meloni wrote in the caption.

Chris Meloni talks his 28-Year marriage to wife Sherman Williams

In a recent interview on TODAY, Meloni opened up about what makes his 28-year marriage with Williams work. "Every night has the potential to be date night. You get a little closer, and you walk a little closer and slower," he said.

He continued: "What has been great is that the longer you're married and you go through all the things that you go through as a married couple, and if you can tough it out and you can find the reasons why you love them and you were attracted to them in the first place, and those just grow. And the feelings, and the strengths of the other person solidify. It's great."

In a 2022 interview with People, Meloni also discussed the secret to their long-term marriage. "It's her patience with me, and I really mean that," he said. "She's allowed me to grow at my speed because she's always been more mature and more levelheaded in many ways. She paints, and I go in her studio, and it just makes me happy. We have her work all over the house. She wants to buy art, and I'm like, 'I don't want that. I want yours.'"

Williams, a former art director and production designer, met Meloni in Los Angeles. The two dated for four years before getting married in a Medieval-style wedding in 1995. They have two children, 22-year-old Sophia, and 19-year-old Dante.

"I always knew I wanted kids, as did my wife. My mother always used to say to me, 'I've learned so much from you kids,' and I didn't get it. Now I get it," Meloni also said in the interview with People.

"One is more of an old soul. I never used that term until they came out of the womb and I looked in their eyes. I was like, 'Holy cow, look at you. You're here to teach me.' As well as the other one, who's a young soul. It's ever-evolving and a complete fulfillment of my life he added"
