Daniel Kyri Just Reunited with a Beloved, Departed Chicago Fire Character
The two Chicago Fire stars posed together for a quirky picture.
Two special Chicago Fire stars just got together for a little reunion!
On July 25, Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter) posted an epic snapshot of himself hanging out with his former co-star, Annie Ilonzeh (Emily Foster). In the picture, Ilonzeh rocked a colorful top, some purple platforms, and lavender locks while Kyri stood in front of her in a denim jacket and black cap.
"Reunion countdown begins," Kyri captioned the exciting Instagram post.

Emily Foster is a paramedic who first appeared in Season 7 of Chicago Fire, then departed in Season 8 when her character decided to attend medical school again after originally leaving her residency. In a 2019 interview with Fansided, Ilonzeh opened up about her character's journey on the show.
"She’s a courageous, ballsy, tough, brave woman and I think we need more of those women. Especially women of color that are in positions like that, that little girls of color can see and [that can be a] role model," she told the outlet.
Ilonzeh added, "I’ve always been a fan of everything Dick Wolf. I legitimately watched Chicago P.D. and I worked with some of those guys [before]. I worked with Jesse Lee Soffer and Patrick John Flueger and even Sophia Bush, so I followed their careers, and I followed them on Chicago P.D. and just loved that.
She continued, "I remember watching Chicago Fire for the first season and being in love with the fact these guys would go in there and save lives and be a version of superheroes. We see superheroes and we see them in the capes and costumes; these are real-life superheroes of the world, and to be able to portray that was a no-brainer."
When asked about the moment when she connected with her character the most, Ilonzeh had an insightful answer: when Foster was offered to come back to medical school and finish her residency but decided to stay at the firehouse (a decision she later reversed).

"I felt her more than I ever had. And it was really thanks to a beautiful scene partner, too, because Eamonn [Walker, Chief Boden] is so giving and so generous with his talents and his heart and held my hand the entire time. That’s when I knew I understood Emily, and she understood me in a way, and the entire existence of Chicago Fire," Ilonzeh said.
