Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson may constantly poke fun at each other as Coaches on The Voice, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have soft spots for one another deep down, as well.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

In fact, in a hilarious 2018 promo for Season 15, Clarkson said something very sweet and sentimental when asked her favorite thing about Shelton.

“My favorite thing about the King of Country, Blake Shelton…I actually love Blake. My favorite thing about him is what attracted me to the show in the beginning. He really wants to push for his Artists. He really wants them to have a career afterwards. I love that,” Clarkson said in the video.

While Shelton has won the show a whopping nine times, Clarkson has won four, including Season 21 with Girl Named Tom. Although Clarkson took a brief hiatus in Season 22 for The Kelly Clarkson Show, she will be returning to The Voice as a Coach for Season 23, which also happens to be Shelton’s last season.

Even still, in an interview with NBC Insider, Clarkson said she won't be letting up on Shelton for the Season 23 crown. "Will I go any easier on Blake knowing it's his last season? Do you know me at all? No!" Clarkson said in the interview, laughing. "Do I hope secretly that he wins his last season? Maybe. But am I going to let him have it? No! I'm going to work for my Artists, and I hope they win!"

"I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23,” Shelton said in a statement announcing his departure. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best."

To see more banter unfold between Shelton and Clarkson, watch The Voice on Peacock and NBC. Season 23 premieres March 6.
