Kelly Clarkson and a Special Guest Sang an Unbelievably Soulful Stevie Wonder Cover
Clarkson brought on a talented elementary school teacher, who went viral in Summer 2023, to duet with her on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
On a November 13 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson sang a rendition of one of the greatest funk hits of the 1970s and brought on the talented Lacey Schaffer-Thomas to accompany her.
Fort Worth, Arkansas elementary school special ed teacher, Schaffer-Thomas, went viral back in August with her Janis-Joplin inspired rendition of "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. Check out her awesome performance here.
Fast forward four months later, and Clarkson decided to bring Schaffer-Thomas onstage with her for a Kellyoke version of the same epic song. During their performance, Schaffer-Thomas's raspy voice complemented Clarkson's soaring notes perfectly as they harmonized to the groovy beat.
They both put their own unique interpretation on the upbeat tune. And of course, the crowd went wild the second the performance was over.
"She didn't even know I was gonna be singing with her until like an hour ago," Clarkson revealed.

What to know about "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder
One of Wonder's biggest hits to date, "Superstition" was released off of Wonder's iconic 1972 album Talking Book, and won Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Male Vocal Performance that year.
In 2021, Rolling Stone listed it on the 12 position of its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. According to the outlet, Wonder originally wrote the song for Jeff Beck, but the legendary producer Berry Gordy insisted Wonder record the song himself, and the rest is history.
