The talk show host took the legendary standard and totally made it her own.
In 2021, Kelly Clarkson covered one of the most classic ballads of all time, and totally knocked it out of the park.
For a Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the powerhouse singer did a stunning rendition of the ultra-famous tune "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers.
During her performance, she gently crooned the signature opening lyrics in front of soothing orange lighting. She pulled off heavenly vocal flips while synths kicked in as she began to riff her heart out. And of course, she wrapped everything up with a perfect whistle tone that somehow transitioned into a sustained belted note.

What to know about "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers
Although the song was originally recorded in 1955 by singer Todd Duncan for the film Unchained, The Righteous Brothers recording (which was released 10 years later) is the most famous version to date.
According to American Songwriter, the lyrics tell the story of a man deciding between breaking free from prison or finishing his sentence so he can eventually return home to his family. The song was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1955.
The Righteous Brothers' version made the ballad a classic standard, and it also reached the number four position on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1965. According to BBC, "Unchained Melody" is one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century. It has since been covered by the likes of Elvis Presley, Barry Manilow, Roy Orbison, U2, Cyndi Lauper, Phil Collins, Hall and Oates, and more.
