Why John Legend Says The Voice Coaches Should 'Look Out' for Camila Cabello
"I've made it harder for myself by allowing her to be my competition," Legend revealed to NBC Insider.
Season 22 of The Voice will feature John Legend, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Camila Cabello as Coaches. It's Cabello's first time appearing as an official Coach on the show—she was an Advisor for Team Legend in Season 21—but don't let her rookie status fool you. In fact, Legend told NBC Insider Cabello will be "tough to beat" this season.
"She was on Team Legend as my celebrity guest mentor, and I could tell she was really good at it," Legend said. "In fact, I told her, 'If a Coach opening ever comes up, you should do it because you'd be great at it.'"
Cabello is no stranger to singing competitions. The Cinderella actress first emerged on the music scene in 2012 as a Contestant onThe X-Factor. (She was a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony.) In later years, Cabello skyrocketed to superstardom with her own solo career, serving us hit after hit. With her experience in singing competitions and proven success within the industry, it would be foolish not to consider Cabello's team a major threat during Season 22 of The Voice.
"I've made it harder for myself by allowing her to be my competition," Legend teasingly revealed to NBC Insider. "And now, she's coming for the crown. We all should look out."
Yes, we should. Watch The Voice Season 22 on NBC this fall Monday and Tuesday nights starting September 19 at 8 p.m. ET. Catch up on previous seasons now on Peacock.
