Tom Ball's Cover of This Elton John Deep Cut is Absolutely Beautiful
The America's Got Talent: All-Stars Finalist sang the song to honor an important family member.
America's Got Talent: All-Stars finalist Tom Ball's recent cover has a deep, sentimental meaning.
When Ball posted a clip of him singing ''Original Sin'' by Elton John on February 3, his voice grew in intensity as he immersed himself in the music. And as always, his powerful vibrato was on point. It turns out, Ball chose to post the song as a meaningful shoutout to his mother.
''This is one of my Mums favourite songs 🎵 She used to play it all the time when i was growing up, so I thought I would give it a go. Hope you enjoy X,'' he captioned the post.

What to know about ''Original Sin'' by Elton John
Released off of John's 2001 album Songs From the West Coast, ''Original Sin'' was written with John's songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin. The lyrics tell the story of a relationship that collapses because one of the partners wasn't being true to themselves.
According to Far Out Magazine, the ''Original Sin'' did not achieve commercial success at first, but later became a fan-favorite, as fans would often request John to perform the song in concert.
''The album’s final single, ‘Original Sin’, is a considerably slow and tender song featuring John’s distinctive piano playing alongside Rusty Anderson’s guitars and Leonard on the keyboards,'' the outlet wrote of the power ballad.
In 2013, John himself told Rolling Stone that ''Original Sin'' was ''one of the best songs [he's] ever written.''
