Blake Shelton and Jimmy Fallon Just Performed a Hilarious, Amazing New Country Song
Blake Shelton and Jimmy Fallon sang about something you should always remember to bring to a party.
Jimmy Fallon and The Voice Coach Blake Shelton just debuted a new, hilarious country song—about ice.
On the September 8th episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Shelton and Fallon got together to perform an original tune called “I’ll Bring the Ice." Both wearing cowboy hats for the set, the song centered on the importance of bringing ice to a party. Fallon, in fact, may have found the ice a little too important.
“Moon’s bright, so we 'gonna do it right,” crooned Shelton on the song. But then Fallon interjected with, “Maybe hit the corner store to get a second bag of ice,” prompting a puzzled look from Shelton. Does a party really need that much ice?
“Look man, maybe cool it on the ice?” remarked a flustered Shelton. But Fallon didn't let up, executing pun after pun about the importance of ice at any social gathering. I mean, we suppose he has a point. Nothing worse than a lukewarm cocktail, am I right?
But that's the thing: You need drinks for the ice, and that was Fallon's fatal flaw in the song. When Shelton asked Fallon for a cold drink from the ice-packed cooler, Fallon realized he was too fixated on the ice itself to bring any beverages. To compensate, he offered Shelton a cup of ice. Refreshing?
“Unbelievable,” sighed Shelton, shaking his head. But he moved past the mishap quickly and started rocking out on his guitar. “Well, the gang’s all here, and there’s plenty of ice,” he sang in unison with Fallon.
“You bring the party—I’ll bring the ice,” Fallon sang as the track ended. He then proceeded to pour ice in his hat and offer it to Shelton as a token of appreciation. It's the thought that counts!
Let this be a cautionary tale to partygoers everywhere: Ice doesn't mean much without a drink to keep cool.
