Luke Mitchell Shared the Most Romantic Selfie with His Wife for St. Patrick's Day
The Chicago Med star shares a special moment in front of the city's famously festive green river.
Luke Mitchell (Dr. Mitch Ripley) is embracing the Chicago life.
For St. Patrick's Day 2024, the Chicago Med star shared a sweet Instagram post of himself having a special moment with his wife of nearly 11 years, fellow Aussie actor Rebecca Breeds, in front of the historic Chicago River. In the snapshot, Mitchell wears a beanie while the two gaze at each other lovingly in front of the famously green-dyed body of water.
Fittingly, Mitchell captioned the post with shamrocks and a smooching emoji.

Breeds isn't the only important figure in Mitchell's life, as he also has an adorable dog named Alfie. On March 7, Mitchell posted a snapshot of the two dining together, and they both even have the same golden brown hair!
''The best good boy 🐶❤️ #Alfie,'' Mitchell captioned the post.
Luke Mitchell on Chicago Med
Mitchell joined the Chicago Med class during the Season 9 premiere as the mysterious and suave Dr. Mitch Ripley. Catching the eye of Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram), his fair share of baggage in his past only contributes to his intriguing nature.
“It turns out that he has an old and difficult relationship with Dr. Charles [Oliver Platt],” Chicago Med executive producer Andy Schneider told NBC Insider. “And he carries some resentment to Charles for that past. Charles himself has to do some soul searching, and kind of reflect on how he treated people in the past.”
“He had a troubled childhood, but looking at him you wouldn’t know that,” Schneider added. “He’s moved on and he’s a really good doctor. He’s got wonderful bedside manner — good with kids, good with patients, and to everyone else in the ED, he’s a charming new addition.”
Dr. Ripley is “a very smart guy from a very rough background,” Chicago Med executive producer Diane Frolov revealed to NBC Insider.

As for Dr. Asher's interest, she is looking for something new when it comes to her dating life. "She’s out in the world of dating apps and not doing well with it. But there is this really handsome, new guy [Ripley] coming into the ED — and charming," Schneider informed us.
Following the announcement of his casting on Chicago Med, Mitchell took to Instagram to share the news with fans.
''Dr Mitch Ripley coming at ya early 2024! 😉 #ChicagoMed @nbc,'' he captioned the post.
''Lucky to have ya!" Schram commented in support.
