During Lynne's rendition, her band member played the track's signature guitar riff before she jumped in, singing powerfully. She then harmonized perfectly with another band member while singing the chorus.

What to know about "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses

Released in 1987 off of the band's debut album Appetite for Destruction, the song reached the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100.

The lyrics, written by front-man Axl Rose, were inspired by his then-girlfriend, Erin Everly. In 2016, Spin listed "Sweet Child O' Mine" as the fifth best Guns N' Roses track out of the band's entire discography, noting the song's "enduring emotional resonance."
