Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon Did an Amazing Sonny & Cher Duet
They've got you, babe!
Kelly Clarkson kicked off The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday, December 2 with an iconic Kellyoke encore. (She couldn't perform a new song because she was hosting the show from home while recovering from COVID.) Viewers were treated to an iconic blast from the past: When Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon performed “I Got You Babe” by Sonny & Cher.
“They say we’re young and we don’t know, won’t find out until we grow” Clarkson crooned flawlessly before Fallon came in with, “Well, I don’t know if all that’s true; you got me and, baby, I got you."
“I got you, babe,” they then sang the song’s chorus to each other in unison while the twangy upbeat guitars played in the background.
“They say our love won't pay the rent; before it's earned, our money's all been spent,” Clarkson continued while swaying with the music.
“I guess that's so we don't have a pot, but at least I'm sure of all the things we got” Fallon jumped back in while the two smiled at each other and then sang the chorus again.
“So let them say your hair's too long, cause I don't care; with you, I can't go wrong,” Clarkson smiled and sang while Fallon adorably grabbed her hand and sang, “Then put your little hand in mine, there ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb.”
