As a wise pop icon once said, "Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you."

How to Watch

Watch Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

And Mariska Hargitay and her daughter Amaya, 12, got to re-live some very special ones on Wednesday, October 11, when they attended the world premiere of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour movie at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The Law and Order: Special Victims Unit star brought her daughter for a rare outing to the event because, clearly, there's a Swiftie bond in the family. Hargitay's SVU character Det. Olivia Benson inspired the name of Swift's cat Olivia, and Hargitay appeared in the music video for the star's song "Bad Blood."

Hargitay took her daughter to the last night of the US leg of the Eras Tour in August, wearing a stack of friendship bracelets and posing for pics with Today's Savannah Guthrie and Swift bestie Selena Gomez.

Amaya got a pic with Taylor's mom Andrea, and on Instagram, Hargitay wrote, "Still in the afterglow of the most magical night. Deepest gratitude to @taylorswift for your poetry and wisdom. You inspire us and connect us to our #delicate tenderness, joy, hope and strength—and most of all, our wish to live and love courageously. Thank you, Taylor, for all you do and all you are. 🫶🏼💖🌟 Thank you 🌳♥️"

And that wasn't even their first time at Eras! Mom and daughter also went to one of Swift's Nashville dates in May, where they met up with Reese Witherspoon and her mini-me, daughter Ava Phillippe.

"'It's like I got this music in my mind Saying it's gonna be alright'” 🎶Thank you magnificent and miraculous @taylorswift for your magic. Most recently, Hargitay was spotted wearing an Eras sweatshirt while at the farmer's market with another L&O actor.

Swift and Hargitay actually met, not at a music or television event, but at fashion's biggest party: the Met Gala!

As the SVU star explained to Seth Meyers, "I met her at the Met Gala, OK, and I was so uncool. And she's down there, she's like, ‘Hi, I like your show!’ And I'm like, ‘Oh thanks!’ And I didn't know that she was like the second coming, right?”

Some time later, she and her husband found themselves leaving an Ingrid Michelson show uptown at the same time as the pop star, and recalled, "She was like a little angel that goes, ‘Oh, do you guys need a ride?’ And I was like, ‘Oh no, why?’...And then she drove us home, and that was the end of it.”

No, that was just the start of it!
